Tranmere story
Stephan Negru is a Dublin-born central defender who joined Tranmere Rovers on loan from Oxford United in February 2026.
Negru began his career with Lourdes Celtic before joining Shelbourne, where he made his senior debut in 2022. He moved to Oxford United in January 2023 and made his League One debut later that season. During his time with Oxford, he also gained Football League experience on loan with Salford City and Bristol Rovers.
In February 2026, Negru joined Tranmere for the remainder of the 2025–26 season.
